Bee Cave Sculpture Park

The Bee Cave Sculpture Park runs across a 7-acre natural environment, displaying a mix of permanent and rotating pieces. Aside from the spectacular art, there is a children’s playarium, a spring-fed pond, some of the city’s tallest oak trees, and over 20 distinct native plant species. If you look attentively, you will also see a lot of animals.

In the heart of Bee Cave, the park provides a one-of-a-kind and long-standing art experience. Park pathways wind in a natural landscape. Many artists’ sculptures in a variety of creative styles and materials are shown. The peaceful outdoor space spans seven acres and includes a natural pond and various native plant types.

The park is right off Highway 71. Enter Shops at the Galleria at 13333 Highway 71 West, Bee Cave, Texas 78738, near the junction and traffic signal of Highway 71 and Ranch Road 620 S.

Playarium

A Playarium is a whimsical sculptural playground that encourages creative problem solving, musical instruction, and physical, social, and cognitive growth. Playariums give greater developmental advantages than typical playgrounds since they are particularly created with one key objective in mind: safety.

Safety is clearly vital since we all care about our children. However, playgrounds that are built to emphasize safety do so at the expense of helping children acquire other vital abilities that are important for both personal and social well-being. Furthermore, Playariums are 273% more entertaining and 928% more aesthetically appealing than standard playgrounds!

Imagine a giant, colorful concrete tree, then add the fun and flare of Antoni Gaudi’s architectural style (complete with exquisite mosaics and nature-inspired shapes) and your mental image of a Playarium will be nearly complete. Consider the tree to be the intersection of three vibrant, creative worlds. The first place, Forest Fantasy, is a lovely woods with a comfortable cabin, mushroom playhouses, and tightropes between over-sized flowers. Hill Country Adventure, the second land, will have a bee cave with a buzzing hive, a fun boat on a mosaic pond, and hidden monkey bars behind a wooden fort. Finally, the third land, Imagination Oasis, merges a fun Dr. Seuss-like kingdom with Van Gogh’s Starry Night on a fiber-optically infused background. This place will have a magical carpet swing and hundreds of feet of flowing balancing beams. Classical music will be played throughout the Playarium, and classical literature such as Shakespeare, fairy tales, and poetry will be presented in specific sections.

While there are instances of distinct playscapes all around the world, there are very few in the United States. We want to alter that right here in Bee Cave. What would you rather play on as a child? A conventional park playscape or a Playarium? What do you believe would be more advantageous to your child if you were a parent? A standard playscape built to optimize safety or a one-of-a-kind Playarium with all of the cognitive advantages for which it is intended? We feel that our children deserve a creative paradise that will give rocket fuel for creativity and can influence change in every child in our community as well as all visitors.
